Friends and Strangers.
We’re in London…well Heathrow, beginning our twelve hour layover. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who are covering us with your prayers. The flight was good and Judah was able to nap as well as, I think, flirt with the young lady sitting behind us.
Leaving our family at the airport was difficult, to put it mildly. It is ironic perhaps, even as our parents savoured every last touch with Judah…even as I can barely hold it together thinking of our final goodbyes…even as our niece sobbed and begged us not to go, that it is these very people and our support networks that give us the emotional and spiritual fortitude to go.
There have been strangers along this journey as well that have given us the encouragement we need to push through. In particular, as we took on a last minute engagement before we left, we heard a specific word from the Lord via someone we had just met. In our time of prayer before the chapel service the Lord had pressed on his heart to tell us this: “Africa is the right place for you guys. He wants you to know this. So when things get tough push through.” We are so thankful to this brother who boldly shared this with us.
